The new One Forty from Merida takes the old One Forty which was an incredible bike and catapults it right to the front of the pack with a raft of updates.
The bike now rolls on 29" wheels front and rear for all out speed. Those of you who want to mix it up can run a 'mullet' set up with a 27.5" rear wheel by a simple adjustment on the linkage which also ups the travel 10mm.
Trail riding is all about going further, Faster than ever before. The all-new One-Forty 500 positively encourages you to do that thanks to an all-aluminium frame with radical new trail geometry that's equally happy cleaning the toughest climbs as it is ripping down high-mountain trails. There's no point getting out there if you can't get back, which is why we've fitted high-value kit that delivers solid performance. Marzocchi and RockShox take care of the suspension, while a wide-range Shimano 11-speed drivetrain turns your effort into go and four-piston brakes turn the lightest touch into slow.
The new Merida One-Forty is the ultimate trail bike, made for the toughest trails in the world. It’s the pinnacle of modern trail riding, with a super-steep 80° seat angle, low front end and bottom bracket allow it to clear the most technical climbs, while longer reach figures across all sizes and a well-balanced 65° head angle mean it’s still more than capable of ripping any descent. With Merida's new Agilometer sizing system, riders can run a longer or shorter reach frame independently of their height, with suspension that becomes more progressive as you size up to better cope with heavier/harder riders. Merida's engineers have focussed on weight reduction and rolling speed too, for improved efficiency. All bikes come with long travel dropper posts, Wire Port cable routing and a reliable threaded bottom bracket
